There is some great art hanging in the most unlikely places. Places where generic reprints dutifully fulfill their obligation to not offend anyone. But sometimes, illustrators like San Diego’s Lyndi Parrett (@Lyndiparrett) provide the visuals for places like the housing at the University of California San Diego. Parrett recently used Twitter to share three pictures of the panels she created. The simplicity of those panels can be found in some of her other work at lyndiparrett.com. The site also houses some of Parrett’s extremely detailed illustration skills.

If the saying is true and idle hands really are the devil’s workshop, then San Diego graphic designer Bryant Wieczorek (@IamNotaMachine) has nothing to worry about. One day last week, after creating this poster, he decided to “run with the hand and fist drawings” and turned them into the two paintings that you see below.

I’ve been unwittingly, and unintentionally, neglecting much of San Diego due to some silly programming error. To make up for that neglect, here are 31 pictures of San Diego taken by Southern Californians ond one visting Twitterer from the city that never sleeps.
On Sep 15 Sean Dailey of San Diego retweeted this image originally posted by New Yorker Jill Hanner five days earlier. Dailey commented: “Ahhh …San Diego at sunset in the summer …nice!”
