San Diego band The Material (@thematerial) might have a chance to play at the Vans Warped Tour if you vote for them on Ernie Ball’s Battle of the Bands by June 10. So what does that have to do with Twitter pictures? Well the band’s lead singer, Colleen D’Agostino (@Colleen52), says to DM her if you’re going to a show and want to buy one of her paintings. If you have questions, you can toss them her way on her Formspring. Beatweek Magazine (@beatweek) already asked a bunch of questions in a recent interview. Last month, a group of artists had the chance to spend a week painting the walls of what used to be the North Park home of four San Diego musicians. The group that hosted the event is Sezio, a non-profit organization that provides supports emerging artists and musicians. I caught wind of them when they shared this picture of Kelli Murray painting at The Boat House. He spotted this piece, which he refers to as “Freedom”, at the Writers Block. Don’t worry, this man of religion is not condoning illegal activity here.
