San Diego band The Material (@thematerial) might have a chance to play at the Vans Warped Tour if you vote for them on Ernie Ball’s Battle of the Bands by June 10. So what does that have to do with Twitter pictures? Well the band’s lead singer, Colleen D’Agostino (@Colleen52), says to DM her if you’re going to a show and want to buy one of her paintings. If you have questions, you can toss them her way on her Formspring. Beatweek Magazine (@beatweek) already asked a bunch of questions in a recent interview. For more about the band, visit The Material on MySpace, and make sure to check out their YouTube channel to watch some acoustic covers and studio footage. Finally, here is D’Agostino’s art from that tweet.

What you see below is not an instrument for the latest guitarist from Lilliput. No, it’s Amanda Lightner’s piece of paper art made for Tomo Milicevic (@tomofromearth) of Thirty Seconds to Mars (@30secondstomars). Amanda is a self-proclaimed hippie and rocker from Fullerton. She’s obviously a fan of the band. If you like her work, make sure to check out the band at thirtysecondstomars.com or on MySpace Music.

Supergroup Them Crooked Vultures followed the recent release of their debut album with a couple of gigs at The Roxy and The Wiltern over the weekend. My Twitter friend @amhhh sent me a pic from the Wiltern show. Carl Rather of Los Angeles shared this image of the marquee on Wilshire and Western. “Them Crooked Vultures. Tonight’s entertainment. Oh yes.”
