OC Fair folks tweet fried food and farm fun

The Orange County Fair is in full swing, with its fried food, Ice Museum and farm animals. People at the fair have been sharing pictures no Twitter. Here is a pic from SoCal native Cathy O’Neill (@CAO916) who took this iconic shot and tweeted “Oh yeah the @OCFair is n town!”

The crowd caught #smdayoc in pictures

If you bring people together to celebrate social media, you can expect a stream of event-related tweets, videos and images. That’s exactly what came out of #smdayoc. It was a meetup organized and hosted last week by my employer, The Orange County Register, as part of Mashable’s global Social Media Day event. The Public Relations Society of America held their big conference in San Diego this weekend. It was a great opportunity for PR pros to show some social media skills.
