The best SoCal food in Twitter pictures

Want to find the best eats and drinks in Southern California? Forget all those contests and competitions. Twitter is full of photo-shooting culinary connoisseurs. I took a second to telepathically ask those tweeting foodies to identify the ultimate SoCal consumables. Here is how they responded. Let’s start with the purest beverage, as posted by Aaryn Costello (@shaycostello) of Los Angeles. She calls it the “Best water ever.”

The crowd caught #smdayoc in pictures

If you bring people together to celebrate social media, you can expect a stream of event-related tweets, videos and images. That’s exactly what came out of #smdayoc. It was a meetup organized and hosted last week by my employer, The Orange County Register, as part of Mashable’s global Social Media Day event. Twitter captures unique SoCal fireworks

On Independenc Day, it’s hard to beat Southern California for its diversity of locations for fireworks shows. For example, take a look at this image of fireworks by the Queen Mary from T-Bone Durfee (@ErinGoBORO) of Los Angeles. According to T-Bone’s tweet, the viewing experienced was accompanied by “a toothless salesman spinning a CCR CD.”
