Rocket scientist shares light painting of Xombie

Ben Brockert (@wikkit) used a laser and a flashlight to create this light painting of an rocket called Xombie. You see, Brockert is a rocket scientist who builds vehicles for Masten Space Systems in the Mojave Desert. He was part of a team that last year won $150,000 prize in a contest funded by NASA when Xombie took off from one pad, hovered for 91 seconds and then landed on another pad. You really need to subscribe to the videos on Brockert’s YouTube channel to fully appreciate his work.

Here is a video of the flight that qualified them for the $150,000 prize.
