Surfer and artist Tom Laura (@BigToeArt) has illustrated and directed art for various surf apparel companies. He took a 15 years break from painting, but I’m glad he’s back. I learned about his work when he shared this piece on Twitter. It was part of an art show at Gasoline Gallery in El Segundo.  I wonder how he got his hands on that Highway Patrol car door that served as his canvas. Maybe I shouldn’t ask. Every Friday, an elderly member of the Chabad movement stops by painter Macey Lipman’s Beverly Hills gallery. One day, the visitor brought along two “young brethren” whom Lipman found visually interesting. He captured the pair in a picture and posted it on his Facebook page, asking his fans for input.
