Jack, in the box and on wood

I caught this final product from Los Angeles graphic designer Allison Revilla when she tweeted that she was finished with the project. Like many artists, Revilla shared a picture of the work before it was completed. She even posted a close-up of the clown’s sad, knotted face. If you like this piece, make sure to visit Allison Revilla’s web site.

Alien from Planet X spotted on bench

Eight years ago, Studio City visual artist Vishwanand “V” Shetti directed a short film titled “The Consequence of Ethical Rebellion.” James Brook created the 3D alien from Planet X in that short. V tweeted about the alien and shared this still image when he ran into Brook’s sister. If you want to see the alien in its many colors, make sure to check out the video and subscribe to V on Vimeo while you’re at it. You can follow V on Twitter @Vishwanand.

Spider-man as an artistic barometer

If you are an artist, I’m sure you’ve looked back at some of your early work and realized that you’ve come a long way. Do you keep track of the progress you make as you hone your craft? Adam Rebottaro of Van Nuys has a tradition that serves as a barometer of his development. He draws Spider-man at the beginning of every year. Here is his 2010 version. You can find more of Rebottaro’s art on his deviantART page.
