Old lowriding exhibit still rides high online

Earlier this month, a Long Beach Angel shared this “cool picture [she] took a while back of Mr.Cartoon’s Ice Cream truck.” She said it was on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum. It looks like this was probably part of the La Vida Lowrider exhibit from 2007-2008. I found at least one more shot of the truck on Flickr and it’s at the top of this La Taco blog post.

Fotog Ink does social right

Christopher Chouinard, aka @fotogink, is another example of a socially connected artist. You can read his blog, connect with him on Facebook or become his MySpace friend. Like so many socially active people, Chouinard is great about giving credit and promoting other people. When he shared this picture on Twitter, he explained that he was dropping off prints at JC Gallery in Oceanside. It looks like some or all of the art below was donated by Chouinard’s fellow Carlsbad artist David Lozeau. By the way, make sure to check out the art from @fotogink that originally caught my eye on yfrog.

Light balls floating in Fullerton

My friend Roxanne Hack shared this picture of “the lights down a street near Fullerton College” last week. I just love the way the lights seem to be floating in the middle of the dark sky, suspended by pure magic of course.
