Irvine, a collection of Twitter pictures

In this second installment of community spotlights, we take a look at the safest city in the United States: Irvine. Most of these pictures will prove that safe is not synonymous with boring, but let’s start off slow. On September 20 Santa Monica’s Juan DeVevo took this picture of U.C. Irvine’s iconic mascot and tweeted “Playing @ UC Irvine. Go Anteaters!? Also, happy Ressurection Day”

Zombies walk and tweet their pics

If you ever find yourself surrounded by rotting corpses walking down a city street, don’t worry. You don’t need to know every move to a thrilling MJ song. You’ve probably just stumbled upon a zombie walk. Although there haven’t been any SoCal walks lately, a local celeb recently missed one when she was visiting Nashville. Her message inspired this post of Southern California zombie images. To kick things off, check out Michelle Smith‘s snapshot of her “new glow in the dark zombie shirt.”

The furry sweet life of Max and Kona

Pet Tales blogger, and my friend, Samantha Gowen really knows her domesticated animals. I asked her to give me a few common Southern California pet names and she immediately offered up Max and Kona. Sure enough, I was able to quickly find some canine and feline friends who (hopefully) answer to those names. Let’s start with David Ly‘s Riverside doggy. As of September 16: “max doing better after some pain meds.”
